Turning the Page. Same Story, New Chapter.

Each New Year’s Day, people kick off resolutions to eat cleaner, start working out, organize the house, accomplish more at work… any number of lofty goals. This year, we have an opportunity to work toward deeper growth on the foundation of an incredibly challenging 2020.

But where do we start? As we look back on a year filled with hardship, discord, fear, and loss, what positives can be learned from this experience?

Resilience. For many of us, we learned that when push comes to shove, we are stronger than we could have ever imagined. Out of necessity, and with newfound courage, we were able to pivot and adapt to keep our footing when everything around us was crumbling. With this new insight, let us raise the bar on our goals for the future.

Priorities. 2020 helped many realize what is tremendously important. The busyness of life came to a grinding halt in March, leaving us to choose only what was crucial. When embracing space with less distraction, there is potential for peace, joy, and incredible growth. When post-COVID-19 life evolves, let’s keep doing good!

Community. As we were all in trying circumstances, fellowship provided a chance to band together and show true concern for each other’s welfare. Extending a hand, showing empathy, and fostering understanding became staples of 2020. Let us continue showing love, being neighborly and offering kindness to all people.

Grace. I discovered that some days it is ok to take a break and get away. Sometimes we need a time out, and that is ok. It is good to give yourself a pass, take a step back and unwind so that you can be healthier, stronger, and have more peace. Let’s show ourselves the same compassion we show others.

These are some of the tools we have gained through grit, perseverance, faith, and staring down fear. Let’s power through the next twelve months, as we strive toward greater awareness, selflessness, and service. Let us stand in gratitude for what we have and scan our horizons to see where we can lend a hand. We are all in this together.

ABACORP wishes you and your loved ones a healthy, prosperous, and joyful new year.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. -- Romans 15:13
