Titans Play Rough

One of the things we love most at ABACORP is team, and that often extends beyond our workplace. On February 8, our Men’s basketball team, the ABACORP Titans, kicked off Shepherd Sports’ winter season, facing the formidable Team Rough Riders. Coached by Command Sergeant Major James Nuells, Team Rough Riders is comprised of U.S. Army Recruiters from all over Southern California.

The United States Army’s Mission Statement is, “To recruit with integrity the highest quality men and women into the United States Army while taking care of all Soldiers and Family members of our command.”

Playing this team of outstanding men of integrity and dedication was a privilege for The Titans. We recently spoke with Coach Nuells about their team and their objectives. “This is a team-building experience and an opportunity to be a part of our local community,” he explained. “To bring awareness to Army recruiting while caring for our soldiers and their families. We offer opportunities for all.”

It was a close game among equally skilled teams, and the Titans played a great game, but the final score was 45 to 57 in favor of Team Rough Riders. If you’re interested in joining or starting a team, Shepherd’s Men's Basketball Leagues draw players from all over LA and the San Fernando Valley. They have four different leagues to accommodate all skill levels.
