Quality Assurance Inspector
Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains quality standards by approving, inspecting, and analyzing in-progress production and finished products verifying quality results using necessary measuring tools.
Performs receiving and in-process quality control inspections.
Proficient in the use of standard inspection hand tools such as: micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, coordinate measuring machine, and optical comparators.
Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, prints, and specifications for every in process and completed job.
Complete, maintain and organize AS9100 documentation, records and inspection tools.
Assist in the interpretation and enforcement of manufacturing requirements per quality control.
Read, interpret and adhere to quality control procedures and standards equivalent to AS9100.
Investigate complaints of non-conforming parts and materials.
Participate in internal and external quality audits.
Familiarity working in an AS 9100 environment, preferred.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements per customer specification. Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and perform necessary calculations. The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, comparator, and CMM. Strong experience performing First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9100 standard and knowledge of applicable industry standards. Must be proficient with AS9100. Ideal candidate will have minimum 3-5 years of experience performing inspections in aerospace or military-defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5 years experience. Experience with ISO/AS standards
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
